Once you have determined your organization's goals and priorities, it is time to focus on how IBM Quantum can help you meet those goals. To simplify the discussion, let us look at the value that the IBM Quantum Network provides to customers across 4 dimensions:

Business Impact

Education & Talent Development

External Eminence

Scientific Advancement

By prioritizing which dimensions are most important to you, and establishing what success looks like, together with IBM you can assess the nature and level of support needed. Once the level of support on each dimension has been established, you and your engagement manager or business development executive can select specific benefits and events that will unlock maximum value and best fit your priorities and goals. The IBM Quantum resources most useful in meeting your goals are sometimes referred to as value drivers.

For many Network partners, several or all these dimensions will be important. The goal is to determine the relative importance of each category to your organization, and utilize IBM resources accordingly. Two examples are shown below. On the first we have an institution that sees value in all areas, but which clearly prioritizes education and workforce development and scientific advancement. This is often emblematic of a QIC operating through a university. This client might opt to utilize a combination of open-source Qiskit community resources, and Network-exclusive educational content like Teach the Researcher events, and self-paced courses on algorithms like the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE).

Next, we have a representation of value drivers that are more strongly defined by business impacts and industry eminence and leadership. This might represent the value drivers of large business enterprises.

Note that in the figures above, most organizations assign some non-zero value to all four dimensions, as they are clearly interconnected. For example, one cannot have a large business impact using quantum computing, if there is not a quantum-smart workforce from which to hire.

Let’s see what IBM Quantum resources and other value drivers some of our established Network partners have identified as being most useful.

Key points:

Use your business development executive (BDE) or engagement manager (EM); work together.

Take every opportunity to learn as much as possible.

Learn from the IBM Quantum, but also from your peers.

Use the real quantum computers. It is inspiring.

Go to as many events as possible: IBM Quantum Summit, Quantum Partner Forum, other smaller scale events.

Collaborate with IBM experts; engagement managers can help filter all the info online and direct you to what is important.

Use digital self-guided courses including Quantum Insider and Quantum Accelerator's EduNext courses.

Leverage community and treat customers like partners.

IBM Quantum resources of high importance for Network partners include:

Industry-leading hardware, including 127-qubit machines running the eagle R3 processors, and the 433-qubit Osprey processor.

IBM Quantum's Qiskit Runtime software, a quantum computing service and programming model that allows users to optimize workloads and efficiently execute them on quantum systems at scale. It will be an invaluable tool along your quantum journey.

Events – IBM Quantum holds a number of in-person and digital events throughout the year. These include events with high-level overviews of developments for business and organizational leads, as well as highly technical workshops. Attendance for some events is limited.

Self-paced education resources – IBM Quantum has an unsurpassed body of educational content, both open and Network-exclusive. Content is linked and described in detail in the coming lessons.
